About the Founder

Ambassador Sidique Abou-Bakarr Wai

A lifetime of diplomacy. A legacy of impact.

Ambassador Wai served as the Republic of Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the United States, with accreditation to Brazil, Canada, the Bahamas, and others. With more than three decades of experience across diplomacy, public policy, and community leadership, he has helped shape international negotiations, secure major development funding, and foster peace and partnership on the global stage.

His U.S.-based work has included senior roles at the NYPD, SUNY Downstate, and NYC Housing Authority. He is also the Founding President of the United African Congress and a trusted voice on equity, humanitarian aid, and diaspora engagement.
